Cindy Canedy Dinga
Violin/Fiddle/Viola Instructor Cindy moved from Southern California into the Bay Area in the early 2000's. By the encouragement of her husband to join an ensemble, she became one of the founding members of the Mission College Symphony conducted by Joseph Ordaz. Cindy has been teaching since 2010. She got her start teaching by the recommendation of Dave Barton and went on to instruct and mentor violin students in "Free Music School", an afterschool program, for three years. Cindy studied Advanced Violin under Concert Violinist Chag-Hee Lee from Symphony San Jose and has taught private lessons ever since. Apart from the Mission College Orchestra, Cindy has played in countless other groups such as the Winchester Orchestra, the St. Timothy's Cantata Orchestra, the Bethel Church Orchestra, the Campbell String Ensemble, the California Concerto Weekend Orchestra, the Mission College Symphony Chamber Group, Santa Clara Valley Fiddlers, and the Wandering Bow Reenactment Group. Cindy currently plays for the praise team at Union Church of Los Altos where she not only plays violin, fiddle, and viola, but also electric bass guitar. Cindy also appears regularly with the Santa Clara Valley Fiddlers Association at Farmers Markets with her favorite 5-string viola. |
