Fender Standard Stratocaster MIM 2010 - Root Beer Flake
The bones of this Stratocaster are not unlike those of many other Made-in-Mexico guitars made in the late 2000's-early 2010's, with an Alder body, Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, and 6-screw vintage-style tremolo bridge. With this example, the devil is in the details. First and foremost, the finish on this body is nothing short of jaw-dropping, with a rich & deep Root Beer metal flake that colorshifts in the light from a dark brown to a rusty red. The original iteration of this guitar packed a black pickguard and plastics with a Hum-Single-Single pickup layout. This instrument has been modified with vintage white plastics with a traditional layout, however it has been tastefully upgraded with a set of Fender Custom Shop '69 Single Coils wound by Fender pickup icon, Abigail Ybarra. Far from a sleeper, this workhorse Strat will stand out from the crowd in the both the looks and tone department at a price that won't break the bank.
This guitar is in Excellent condition, showing very little wear and careful storage. The pickguard and pickup covers show light-to-moderate pickwear which is only evident when held to the light. The guitar arrived to us without a tremolo cavity cover. We added a suitable used cover to this instrument and it has minor scratches on it. This package includes an aftermarket tweed hard case by Guardian. This guitar recently received a pro setup and was restrung with a set of Curt Mangan 10's.
