Kramer 650B 4-string 1977-1978 - Natural RESTORED with Upgrades & Hard Case
This Kramer 650B is the doomstick of your dreams!
A labor of love and learning from guitar wizard Peter Katsaros - formerly of Santa Cruz Guitar and currently a member of the Keith Holland Guitars tech team - this bass has been fully resurrected from the dead, as Pete received it as a sad and nearly-empty husk. There was an endless amount of surface damage what was expertly repaired, most notably a large patch of buckle rash on the reverse and several questionable areas on the reverse of the neck. Its neck pickup still functions perfectly, however the bridge pickup was professionally rewound by Curtis Novak. The wiring harness was completely missing, so the internals were completely replaced with 500k CTS pots, Orange Drop capacitors, and a tricked-out set of oversized "Home-Stereo-inspired" control knobs Katsaros describes this body as a "Hippie Sandwich," s the center section is a solid chunk of Birdseye Maple and the wings are each 5-layers of walnut and maple with ha highly-figured slab for its top. The neck is the star of the show, comprised of a T-section of Aluminum with Walnut wedges, 2-per-side ORIGINAL Schaller tuning machines, and the original Ebonol fingerboard bearing pearl Crown Inlays. Katsaros put the icing on the cake with a brand new compliment of 6100 fretwire polished for the gods as well as with a modern Hipshot bridge.
