Marshall 1965 JTM45 Head & 1966-1968 1960B Cabinet with 20W Celestions & Bluesbreaker Cloth Early-Mid 1960's
Do you want to sound like rock royalty? Accept no substitutes. This Marshall Stack is the REAL DEAL. Read on, MacDuff. Its a doozy.
The JTM45 is the sound of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Angus Young, Peter Green, Gary Moore, and Jeff Beck. It defined the British Rock sound of history. Often replicated, never duplicated, especially in the presence of the genuine article such as this. According to our Marshall expert - a certain someone who will remain nameless, but is renowned for working on amplifiers for a certain guitar player known for wearing a top hat - this JTM45 is one of the first 500 in existence. Here's the geeky stuff, the exact tech from our tech, Mike Sabolish, who was responsible for refurbishing this gem:
The original 22uF multi-section 0.95” can capacitors from Allied went out of production in the late 90’s. Exact replacements couldn’t be found. Switched amp over to new 1.25” multi-section can capacitors used in the JCM800 reissue. Removed and re-drilled for new 1.25” cap retainers inside and out. One of the original KT66 tubes had short from screen to heater which caused internal 500mA fuse to blow. Replaced with new matched set of KT66 tubes, rebiased to 70% max dissipation. New internal fuse installed. Flushed pots with solvent, and retightened all mounting and external hardware. Confirmed all 4 screen grid resistors were within tolerance, and checked all coupling caps for DC leakage. Checked preamp tubes for microphonics, and swapped V2 and V1 for lower overall noise. Original power cord not replaceable with NOS: converted amp over to new IEC power connector, installed removable aluminum plate in rear of amp to cover the original hole (no mods done can be reversed). The original transformer was replaced with a Mercury Magnetics transformer (MMO1/00). All original parts returned.
The cabinet is 100% original, missing only it's centralized Marshall script badge. The original rubberized "Bluesbreaker" grille cloth is in aged-yet-flawless condition, showing no instances of snags, tears, runs, or rips. The cabinet is home to a set of four Celestion G12M 20w speakers, the "Holy Grail" set as sought after by so-many legendary players
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a legendary stack. But don't put this one in a museum. This one is poised to "go-to-11" for a lifetime.

The grillecloth on the 4x12" cabinet is 100% original, which is exceedingly rare in a case such as this. However, the original Marshall logo on the cabinet is missing to time. Two of the labels on the G12M speakers are missing, however all of the speakers have been examined and are an accurately date-matched set. The head has undergone a thorough refurbishment, as detailed above by our expert amp tech, Mike Sabolish. All original parts have been retained and will be included in the purchase of this package. Due to its fragile nature, this package will be set for Local Pickup only and will not be considered for shipping. This stack has been thoroughly tested and functions perfectly. It is LOUD and AMAZING.
