PRS CE Stoptail 1998 - Black Sunburst
From PRS:
The CE bolt-on was originally introduced in 1988 to offer players classic PRS design and quality with the added snap and sparkle of bolt-on construction. Its 25” scale length sits comfortably between short and longer scale guitars, feeling at home to most players.
This 1998 stoptail model is a true workhorse, a no-frills example from the golden-era of PRS trimmed with the essential PRS mojo. The plain mahogany body in traditional Black Sunburst is loaded with a pair of original PRS Dragon II humbuckers with a PRS compensated stopbar tailpiece, master volume and tone knobs, and a classic 5-way rotary pickup selector. The neck has a Wide Fat profile with a Rosewood fingerboard and Abalone dot inlays and is topped with PRS Phase I "Winged" Locking tuning machines.
Why lose sleep over taking a loan out for a fully-blinged out PRS when guitars like these exist in the wild? Sure, this one has some wear and tear. Where it counts is playability and longevity, and this nearly-30-year-old banger can still sing with the best of them. Whether this is your first PRS, your studio pal, or your gigging counterpart to the supermodel McCarty that stays home, this one is worth every penny.
