PRS CE Stoptail 1998 - Black Sunburst

From PRS:

The CE bolt-on was originally introduced in 1988 to offer players classic PRS design and quality with the added snap and sparkle of bolt-on construction. Its 25” scale length sits comfortably between short and longer scale guitars, feeling at home to most players.

This 1998 stoptail model is a true workhorse, a no-frills example from the golden-era of PRS trimmed with the essential PRS mojo. The plain mahogany body in traditional Black Sunburst is loaded with a pair of original PRS Dragon II humbuckers with a PRS compensated stopbar tailpiece, master volume and tone knobs, and a classic 5-way rotary pickup selector. The neck has a Wide Fat profile with a Rosewood fingerboard and Abalone dot inlays and is topped with PRS Phase I "Winged" Locking tuning machines.

Why lose sleep over taking a loan out for a fully-blinged out PRS when guitars like these exist in the wild? Sure, this one has some wear and tear. Where it counts is playability and longevity, and this nearly-30-year-old banger can still sing with the best of them. Whether this is your first PRS, your studio pal, or your gigging counterpart to the supermodel McCarty that stays home, this one is worth every penny.

This guitar is in Good "Player-Grade" condition, showing signs of heavy use, careful maintenance, and careful storage. Thera are unnumerable areas of wear on this instrument, from the headstock to the tail. From a few feet away, this guitar looks perfectly acceptable, but upon close inspection and inspection in the light, there are areas of scratches, dents, scuffs, and touch-ups throughout the body and along the edges of the headstock. There is a slightly rough area on the reverse of the neck at around the 12th fret area, which may have been caused by wither playwear or by a guitar stand. The pickups and tailpiece show moderate wear to the plating from age and from playwear. As we are limited to only 25 photos on our Reverb listing, not all areas of imperfection could be presented in this listing. Should you require more photos of this instrument's condition, please reach out to us directly via Reverb and we can present to you the photoset in its entirety. This guitar is 100% original and has been inspected by our expert tech. This package includes the original hard case and all case candy as seen in photographs. This guitar is being sold AS-IS.
