Given the opportunity to hear a truly sophisticated guitar, players experienced a paradigm shift in what they thought possible. This time-tested design ensures large bass response and overall volume. The Pre War design package is presented with understated and elegant appointments to emphasize master grade materials, tone and workmanship. It is perfect for the aficionado that loves the advantages of a professional boutique instrument featuring Indian Rosewood sides and back with Sitka Spruce top, unassuming solid square headstock and a V neck with volute. Under the hood, the Pre War design package honors its pre-WWII predecessors with an advanced X and scalloped top bracing. The OM/PW’s versatility and ergonomics lend great appeal for traditional picking styles and impressive rhythm work. Expect the predominant bass and throaty presence of the surviving pre-war antiques. There are no unnecessary design features on this model, simply the finest materials treated to SCGC’s state of the art lutherie.

This guitar is in NEAR-MINT condition showing signs of very minimal use and careful storage, This guitar was originally custom-ordered from Gryphon Strings in Palo Alto, CA. The original owner opted for a narrower nut width, Ivoroid Binding for the body, headstock, & fingerboard, and multi-layer "Purfle Combo" for body purfling and rosette (as opposed to the more-commonly seen herringbone motif.) Hence, this is a custom ordered Santa Cruz offering and may very well be one-of-a-kind. Insofar as any "wear" is concerned, there are very minimal scratches in the finish on the reverse of the body, which were most likely a result of this guitar being played while sitting down. There are minor impressions in the top on the upper bout on the treble side. There are two small impressions on the reverse of the neck at the 6th and 9th fret areas. This guitar was recently set-up by our expert techs and restrung with a set of Cleartone 12's. This package includes the original hard case.
