Have we got your attention?
Calling all Film Buffs out there in ReverbLand! This is not your typical consignment. This listing is heavy.
On the surface, we present to you a vast rack unit of Alesis equipment from the 1990's: five Alesis ADAT units in studio grade condition, an Alesis BRC Control Unit, and all cable snakes necessary to get the rig fully-running. A crafty recording hobbyist could very well set this rig up and enjoy a nostalgic recording experience on some nearly 30 year old gear.
But wait. There's more.
The consigner of this rig is Jeff Fogerty, son of Creedence Clearwater Revival's Tom Fogerty and nephew of John Fogerty. Jeff worked as a touring guitar player and in a managerial/technical/PR capacity for the Admiral of the Mothership himself, George Clinton. Jeff acquired this Alesis rig from his friend, famed Hollywood sound wizard and composer John Neff. Go ahead and IMDb John Neff. I'll wait.
Now that you've Googled John, you've found out that he is highly-regarded for his work collaborating with legendary director and cult film icon, David Lynch. These ADAT's were installed into David Lynch's Asymmetrical Studios by John Neff, where the two collaborated on both music and film projects - far-less notably on David Lynch's debut album, "BlueBOB" and MOST NOTABLY on two of David's cult film classics "Lost Highway" and "Mulholland Drive." The consigner was able to put the Keith Holland Staff in contact with John Neff himself, and his statement regarding this gear was as follows:
"My name is John Neff and I worked with David Lynch for nine years. I technically designed his Asymmetrical Studio and ran it until 2005. ADATS 1-3 were installed in the studio. They were used to transfer the orchestral score into Lost Highway and some incidental music cues into Mulholland Drive. I got the ADATs from Lynch during a studio refurbishment in 2004. I added a fourth machine for 32 track capability to match my console and the fifth machine was bought for use as a spare. All have the latest software update. All have low hours.
John Neff, Former chief engineer, Asymmetrical Studio"
Opportunities to own memorabilia attached to David Lynch are far-and-few-between and the team at Keith Holland Guitars is proud to present this chance to the Reverb public. This rig is being sold AS-IS, with ironclad provenance directly from John Neff himself. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding this piece of film history.
