In addition to being Highly-acclaimed as Miles Davis' first electric guitar player on record, Joe Beck had an extensive career as a world-class session player, producer, and arranger for the likes of Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Buddy Rich, Howard Roberts, James Brown, Burt Bacharach, Gloria Gaynor, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, Doc Servrinson, and many more. With their simple elegance, solid construction, and Art-Deco design cues, Joe Beck's Signature guitar pays a striking homage to the custom Rick McCurdy archtops with which Beck was touring prior to his partnership with Cort. This already-stunning example has been upgraded in the style of Charlie Christian with custom-wound Vintage Vibe CC-Rider pickups by Peter Biltoft. This "value-priced" tribute to McCurdy's masterpieces delivers tone and playability that punches high above its weight-class. This guitar is in Excellent-to-Near-Mint condition, showing signs of very little playwear, careful storage, and tasteful modification. The main upgrade on this guitar is a pair of Vintage Vibe CC-Rider Pickups with Red Tortoise covers. there are mild finish scratches and imperfection on the body of the guitar which are difficult to see unless held to the light and were difficult to photograph. The top of the guitar has very minor scratches and the Red Tortoise pickup covers show some pickwear. This package includes the original hard case.
